Some residents of Port Harcourt Saturday, August 22, 2026, reportedly are defied the rain to stage a peaceful protest against alleged ‘one-chance’ attacks in the ‘Garden City’.

Some of the protesters are some victims, who affirmed that they survived purported attacks involving criminal elements operating in commercial vehicles in Rivers State capital.

Others have joined the march in solidarity with the victims, and to demand urgent action to prevent further occurrences, Channels TV report said.

The protesters also carried placards with different descriptions, expressing their displeasure over what they described as a worrying new trend of criminal activities in the South-South state.

They, therefore, called on the authorities to strengthen security on the roads and protect commuters across the state.

It was gathered the protesters further marched from Boro Camp Junction to the Rivers State Government House and the Rivers State Police Command Headquarters

While there, they intended to press their demands for safer roads, better security and an end to ‘one-chance’ operations in the city.l, according to report.
