Nigeria COVID-19 cases total 100,087 as NCDC records 1, 358 deaths

*The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control says there are currently 18,699 active cases in Nigeria, with Lagos and FCT having 6,858 and 5,563 respectively

Nigeria has recorded 1,358 COVID-19 deaths, just as cases of the Coronavirus exceed 100,000.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) via its verified Twitter account @NCDCgov Sunday, January 10, 2021, said the latest figures indicate a total of 100,087 COVID-19 recorded in the country thus far.

The health and disease control agency stated that out of the total 100,087 COVID-19 cases, 80,030 patients have been discharged.

There are currently 18,699 active cases in Nigeria, with Lagos and FCT having 6,858 and 5,563 respectively, NCDC stated.

Likewise, data from the NCDC’s Web site showed that the country recorded 1,024 new cases in 16 states and the Federal Capital Territory January 10, 2020.

Of the fresh 1024 new cases of COVID19 in the country, Lagos-653, Plateau-63, Benue-48, Zamfara-45, FCT-42, Rivers-27, Ondo-26, Adamawa-26, Kaduna-22, Edo-18, Ogun-16, Imo-12, Kano-9, Yobe-6, Ekiti-5, Jigawa-4 and Osun-2.
