Anambra: 16 NYSC members repeat Service as 19 others face disciplinary actions

Sixteen members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving in Anambra State, South-East Nigeria, are to repeat their National Service, just as three others will serve various terms of disciplinary measures.

Mr. Ebenezer Olawale, NYSC Coordinator for Anambra State, disclosed this development Thursday, November 7, 2025, in Awka, the state capital, said no formal passing out ceremony was held in the state.

Olawale noted that the Service issued Certificates of National Service at the various local government NYSC offices across the state.

Total 2,158 Corps members successfully concluded their service year, and the NYSC Management issued them their discharge certificates accordingly.

It was also gathered that seven deserving Corps members won the Anambra Governor’s Award, while four others carted home the Chairman’s Award as the Corps members passed out Thursday.

As the NYSC State Coordinator congratulated the outgoing Corps members, he however, regretted that 19 of the young Nigerians were to face disciplinary measures, with 16 repeating their service, while three would serve extension of between two and four months.
