The Presidency has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu returned to Abuja evening Monday, October 6, 2025, after his 10-day working visit to Lagos, the country’s commercial nerve centre.

It is recalled President Tinubu had arrived in Lagos Friday, September 26, after attending the coronation of His Imperial Majesty (HIM), Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

While in Lagos State, President Tinubu engaged with key global investors, including Nigerian-born Bayo Ogunlesi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Global Infrastructure Partners, and Akeem Belo-Osagie, ex-Chairman of United Bank for Africa and Etisalat, who is now Chairman of Metis Capital Partners.

Likewise, the Nigerian leader received Mr. Arsenio Dominguez, Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), in the company with Adegboyega Oyetola, Nigeria’s Honourable Minister for Marine and Blue Economy, and other heads of agencies in the sector of the economy.

Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Monday disclosed President Tinubu, during their meeting with the IMO Secretary-General, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to developing Nigeria’s maritime industry as “a viable alternative to fossil energy”.

Besides, on the eve of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary last week, Tinubu had visited Imo State to commission projects executed by Governor Hope Uzodimma.

The President, during the visit, also unveiled a book authored by Governor Uzodimma, chronicling 10 years of the APC governance in the West African country.

Tinubu equally delivered the national broadcast from the State House, Dodan Barracks, on Independence Day.

He later commissioned the renovated National Theatre, now renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, where he urged Nigerians to speak positively about their country.

President Tinubu Saturday, October 4, as well visited Jos, Plateau State, capital, to attend the burial of late Mama Lydia Yilwatda, mother of Prof. Nantawe Yilwatda, National Chairman of APC.

Onanuga stated the President, at the funeral prayers in Jos, paid tribute to Mama Yilwatda.

He assured the Christian community in Northern Nigeria of his administration’s unwavering commitment to fairness and equity among all religious groups in the country.
