The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Niger/Kogi Command, says its operatives seized vehicles and other contraband with a cumulative Duty Paid Value (DPV) of over N194 million December 2023.

ConsumerConnect reports Busayo Kadejo, Comptroller of the (NCS)  Command, disclosed this development to reporters Wednesday last week, in Minna, Niger State capital.

Kadejo noted that the Command also recovered over N20 million from demand notices within the same period.

The Comptroller stated in December last year, the Service recovered several items from smugglers including eight units of exotic cars and 875 litres of Premium Motor Spirit  (PMS), otherwise known as petrol, which had already been auctioned due to its inflammable nature.

The Command equally made 65 seizures with a cumulative Duty Paid Value of over N260millon  in 2023, said Kadejo.

The top NCS official attributed these successes to the deployment of intelligence and committed officers.

The NCS, however, warned smugglers that the Command would not spare them no matter who they are.

Kadejo as well restated the Federal Government’s directive on border closure is still in force.
