In a bid to reposition and empower the Nigerian youth towards the digital era through digital job creation programmes, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has trained over 150 youths on digital skills in Adamawa State.

ConsumerConnect reports Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State, at the opening of the recent digital skills training programme held at Duragi Hotel, remarked the training was aimed at redirecting and repositioning the Nigerian youth towards the digital era through digital job creation programmes.

The government stated: “This involves a two-day training and capacity building initiative for over 150 youths across the state that will harness their strength and stimulate/empower them for self-employment.”

Represented at the programme by Hon. Auwal Tukur, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Fintiri described the initiative as timely.

He restated the Adamawa State Government’s readiness to partner with NCC, in order to take advantage of necessary privileges for the betterment of the youth of the state.

Muhammad B. Tukur (Sardauna Nyibango), New Media aide to the Governor of Adamawa State, noted in a blog note that in her welcome remarks at the training programme, Mrs. Hauwa B. Wakili, Head of Digital Skills and Services, and Barrister Usman Malah, Director of Human Capital and Infrastructure at NCC, who represented the Executive Vice-Chairman and CEO of NCC, had said that it was a great gesture to see government officials showing support for initiatives like the Digital Skills Workshop for Youth Empowerment.

Malah stated: “The involvement of the Governor’s office and SSG Adamawa State, Hon. Auwal Tukur, highlights the importance of investing in the digital skills of the youth for their empowerment and the overall development of the state.

“This kind of support and attention can go a long way in creating opportunities and advancing the potential of the youth in Adamawa state.”
