Danbatta leads NCC’s delegation to condole with families of ex-Minister Gwadabe, BUK Registrar

Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, Executive Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (EVC/CEO) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Thursday, April 27, 2023, led a delegation of top officials of the telecoms sector regulatory Commission on condolence visits to the families of two prominent Nigerians who passed away recently.

Danbatta and the NCC top officials visited the families of late Alhaji Musa Gwadabe, former Minister for Labour, and Jamil Ahmed Salim, Registrar of Bayero University Kano (BUK), who both died in the Northern ancient city lately.

Mr. Reuben Muoka, Director of Public Affairs at NCC, at the weekend disclosed during the condolence visits, the EVC/CEO of the Commission  commiserated with the families of the deceased and prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed.

The NCC Chief described late Alhaji Gwadabe and BUK Registrar Salim as patriotic Nigerians, who contributed immensely to the development of the country in various capacities.

Danbatta also noted that the demise of such great minds was not only a loss to their families but also to the entire nation.

He, however, urged the families to take solace in the fact that their loved ones lived exemplary lives and left indelible marks in the sands of time.

“We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Alhaji Musa Gwadabe and the Registrar of Bayero University, Kano.

“They were great Nigerians who made remarkable contributions to the development of our dear country. They will be greatly missed,” said Danbatta.

The NCC Executive Vice-Chairman further stated: “We pray that the Almighty Allah grants them eternal rest and gives their families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”

In their responses to the condolence visits, the NCC noted the families of the deceased expressed their gratitude to Danbatta.

According to the Commission, the EVC/CEO as well paid a similar visit to Prof. Sagir Adamu Abbas, Vice-Chancellor of the BUK, who equally expressed gratitude for the visit.
