In order to ensure consumer protection, American Honda Motor Company is recalling 448,613 of the following vehicles:

  • Model year
  • 2017-2020 CR-Vs,
  • Model year 2018-2019 Accords and Accord Hybrids,
  • Model year 2018-2020 Odysseys,
  • Model year 2019 Insights, and
  • Model year 2019-2020 Acura RDXs.

The automobile manufacturing firm said

the factory issue with the front seat belts might cause the seat belt buckle channel to interfere with the release button, preventing the seat belt buckle from latching.

Honda also disclosed an unlatched seat belt cannot properly restrain the seat occupant during a crash, increasing their risk of injury.

In regard to what to do in addressing the manufacturing defect, the company noted the dealers would replace the driver and front passenger seat belt buckle release buttons or the buckle assemblies — as necessary — free of charge.

Owner notification letters should be in the mail April 17, 2023, report said.
