As Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease fatal virus infects several people in Nigeria and other economies across the world, the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) is making contribution to ongoing efforts at curbing its spread by giving relief to victims receiving treatment in the country.

Channels TV reports that Air Vice-Marshal O. A. Adesanya, NAF Attache to Russia, NAF Defence, in a Twitter post Monday, April 13, 2020, stated that NAF has started the distribution of oxygen produced at its Liquid Oxygen Plant to isolation centres where COVID-19 patients are being treated in Nigeria.

Adesanya said: “I’m glad to note that the Nigeria Airforce has started the distribution of oxygen being produced at its Liquid Oxygen Plant to isolation centers and designated hospitals across the country in support of the national response to COVID-19 pandemic,” he tweeted via @AVM_OA_Adesanya.

Oxygen therapy, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO), is said to be the major treatment intervention for patients with severe COVID-19 cases.

Previous COVID-19 responses by the NAF include the airlifting of healthcare personnel, equipment and supplies around the country as airports remain closed, stated the report.[do_widget id=heateor_sss_sharing-2]
