Sequel to the recent National Assembly’s (NASS) passage of the 2023 Appropriation Bill, Senate President Ahmad Lawan has disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari would sign the national budget Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

Senator Lawan stated this Friday, December 30, 2022, after his visit to President Buhari in the State House, Abuja, FCT.

ConsumerConnect reports the Senate President also informed the State House Correspondents that he briefed the President on the NASS latest passage of the Appropriation Bill, the 2022 Supplementary Appropriation Bill, Finance Bill, and 2023 General Elections among other issues of national interest.

According to Lawan, the National Assembly looks forward to the presidential assent to the next year’s Appropriation Bill on the first working day of the New Year.

He further noted that the relative delay in the passage of bill in NASS was due to some problems in the figures earlier presented to the Federal Legislature.

It is noted that this current bill will be the first Appropriation Bill to be assented to by the President after the New Year.
