Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) is recalling 161,000 of the following vehicles:

Model year 2020-2022 GLE350s, GLE450s & GLS450s,

Model year 2021-2022 AMG GLE53s, model year 2020-2021 GLE580s, GLS580, and

Model year 2021 GLE400es, AMG GLS63s, AMG GLE63 Ss, & Maybach GLS600 vehicles.

The automobile manufacturer said the rear door window trim bars might detach due to a manufacturing error.

The company stated the error could cause a road hazard, and increase the risk of a crash or injury.

So far in 2022, Mercedes-Benz has issued 27 recalls for a total of nearly 890,000 vehicles, report said.

In regard to what to do in rectifying the error, MBUSA noted the dealers would inspect and secure the rear window trim bars — as necessary — free of charge.

Owner notification letters should go out November 11, 2022.

Affected vehicle owners may contact MBUSA Customer Service on (800) 367-6372.
