Land Rover recalls 18,824 Range Rover Evoque vehicles over system warning light malfunction

Emmanuel Akosile | ConsumerConnect

Land Rover is recalling 18,824 model year 2020 Range Rover Evoque vehicles.

The automobile manufacturer said that the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) warning light software was programmed incorrectly, which may cause the warning light to malfunction and illuminate intermittently.

Land Rover stated that an SRS system warning light that falsely illuminates could prevent the detection of an actual airbag system failure, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

In connection with what to do in correcting the error, the company said that dealers would update the restraints control module (RCM) software free of charge.

Meanwhile, owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 14, 2022.

Affected vehicle owners may contact Land Rover Customer Service on (800) 637-6837.

Land Rover’s number for this recall is N664.
