In a move to prevent the general public from getting involved in a possible scam, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has alerted Nigerians to reject a fake quiz contest that purportedly emanated from the Corporation.

The NNPC has disowned the fake quiz competition trending online, which claims to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Mr. Garba Deen Muhammad, Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division of the Corporation NNPC, in a statement issued Tuesday, October 19, 2021, in Abuja, FCT, noted that in the purported quiz contest, “unsuspecting participants are encouraged to answer four questions on their knowledge of the Corporation, with the eventual winner standing the chance of winning some cash reward of up to N30,000.”

The statement said “the NNPC wishes to state categorically that it has nothing to do with the purported 50th anniversary quiz contest.”
