NCC seeks stakeholders’ inputs into draft telecoms regulatory instruments

*The Nigerian Communications Commission announces the public inquiries on the draft telecoms regulatory instruments are scheduled to hold virtually Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at 11.00a.m.

As part of its mandate as the telecoms sector regulator in the country, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), in accordance with the Nigerian Communications Act 2003 (the Act), has published three draft instruments for stakeholders’ comments.

ConsumerConnect reports Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde, Director of Public Affairs of NCC, who endorsed the public notice August 27, 2021, in Abuja, FCT, stated the draft telecoms regulatory documents published on its corporate Web site www.ncc.gov.ng are: Registration of Telephone Subscribers Regulations; SIM Replacement Guidelines; and Spectrum Trading Guidelines.

The Commission said: “In accordance with Section 57 of the Act, Public Inquiries in respect of the above mentioned draft regulatory instruments have been scheduled to hold virtually at 11.00a.m. on the dates stated in the table below:

The NCC Director of Public Affairs further noted that interested stakeholders are by this notice invited to make written submissions on the subject and participate in the Public Inquiries.

Details of the virtual meeting will be forwarded to interested attendees prior to the Public Inquiries, said Dr. Adinde.

The public notice added that all submissions must reach the Commission on or before Friday, September 24, 2021, and should be addressed to: The Executive Vice-Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission, Plot 423, Aguiyi Ironsi Street, Maitama, Abuja, and ATTN: Director, Legal and Regulatory Services.
