The All Progressives Congress (APC), in Oyo State, South-West Nigeria, has berated the promoters of a political group named, “Boye Nation”, for an alleged attempt to create confusion in the polity by promoting candidates of different political parties simultaneously.
The APC in Oyo State Thursday, November 5, 2026, stated that the group should either return to its fold, and work for all its candidates or stay clear completely.
This warning came against the backdrop of a video clip being circulated on some social media platforms where a number vehicles were branded with campaign messages and pictures of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the APC as well as those of the Governorship Candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) in Oyo State.
The branded vehicles, which also carried the symbol of the group and the logos of both the APC and APM, were displayed without any voice messages.
Olawale Sadare, Publicity Secretary of Oyo APC, who noted this development in a statement Thursday, in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, emphasised that it was open to engaging every aggrieved member with a view to having everyone on board since it believed that the support of all and sundry was critical to electoral success.
Sadare stated: “But it is important to state that our broad-mindedness should not be taken for weakness or trepidation.
“We have got the reports from different sources that some individuals, who are behind the Boye Nation activities in Ibadan, are perfecting plans to create confusion in the polity.”
The APC Publicity also said: “Some of these people celebrate their confusion on the social media but we can only wish them best of luck. “But information has it that some individuals who left our party recently are now trying to campaign for President Bola Tinubu against the Presidential candidate of their new party.”
He explained: “While we sympathise with the man in question as he and his group must have realised the fatal error in their recent political move, we urge them to return home and play the role expected of them as progressive family members.
“However, it is imperative for these characters to desist from branding vehicles and other campaign item with logos of many political parties at the same because we, in APC, do not welcome such a comedy.”
Sadare restated: “To this end, we are saying it emphatically that it is an obligation for anyone who is interested in any of our party candidates to embrace all other APC’s standard bearers.
“If you are supporting our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, you must be intentional by working for the governorship, Senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly candidates of the APC at the same time as doing otherwise would be unacceptable to us.”
