Otedola strengthens stakeholding profile in FirstHoldCo with ₦222.2bn Ordinary Shares

Mr. Femi Otedola, Nigerian billionaire businessman and Chairman of FirstHoldCo Plc, Thursday, July 30, 2026, gave a further boost to his investment in the leading financial services group.

Otedola’s move emerged after a related firm had acquired 1.77 billion Ordinary Shares, valued at ₦222,208,962,502.4 in a single transaction on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX).

ConsumerConnect gathered the share dealing notification dated July 30, indicated that the firm, Calvados Global Services Limited, related to the notable businessman, purchased 1,779,094,976 units of shares at ₦124.90 per share on the Nigerian Exchange Limited.

The latest development came eight days after he acquired 706.13 million Ordinary Shares worth ₦77,589,693,948.52 in a single transaction on the NGX, ChanneksTV report noted.

The transaction also came months after Otedola acquired additional shares of FirstHoldCo Plc, valued at approximately ₦43.41 billion.

The May 2025 transaction involved the purchase of 549,535,653 shares at an average price of ₦79 per share.

The businessman had in September 2025 increased his stake in the company with the purchase of 39,313,379 units valued at ₦1.21 billion.

Regarded as one of Nigeria’s biggest investors, Otedola became the Chairman October 2024.

He, May 2026, had announced plans to invest his $100 million Geregu power plant stake in the Dangote Petroleum Refinery.

It is recalled that in March 2026, Forbes ranked Otedola among the coveted Africa Billionaires List.

The list also includes the Founder and Chief Executive of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote; Chairman of BUA Group, Abdulsamad Rabiu; and Founder of Globacom, Mike Adenuga, Jnr.
