For non-compliance with the Event Safety Clearance the state’s Safety Commission earlier issued to them to curb the spread of COVID-19, the Lagos State Government (LASG) has sealed off more than 14 facilities, including event centres, night clubs across the state.

The government in a statement said the LASG through the Safety Commission and Lagos State Police Command sealed off the affected buildings Saturday night for “non-compliance with COVID-19 Health Protection Regulations of the State and Federal Government.”

According to the state government, the enforcement exercise saw event centres, such as FM, Triple C, Molobi, etc., sealed for non-compliance with the Event Safety Clearance that was issued to them by the Safety Commission.

The statement noted the clubs shut down in Lagos State include the DNA NightClub, Pluto Club, Sailors Lounge, Club G12, Tiger Bar, Bayrock, Jadasport, Club Ibiza, Dynasty Sports Bar and Lounge, and 10/10 Bar.

Mr. Hakeem Odumosu, Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, said the Police would continue to monitor compliance across the state.

Odumosu warned that COVID-19 violators and perpetrators will be arrested and charged to court.

The Police chief, therefore, urged Lagos residents to protect themselves and others by following the laid down regulations issued by the Federal and State Governments.
