General Motors recalls 464 Chevrolet Bolt EV vehicles over defective brake caliper

GM 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV Car

General Motors (GM) is recalling 464 model year 2020 Chevrolet Bolt Ev cars.

The company stated the affected vehicles may have an improperly cast front left brake caliper that can fracture during a high-pressure braking event.

It noted if a brake caliper fractures and brake fluid is lost, the vehicle may experience reduced brake performance, increasing the risk of a crash.

In respect of what to do in rectifying the error, GM will notify affected owners, and dealers will inspect the casting lot number on the front left brake caliper and replace it, if necessary, free of charge.

The current recall is expected to begin February 5, 2021.

Meanwhile, owners may contact Chevrolet Customer Service on (800) 222-1020, and  GM’s number for this recall is N202321400.
