Mercedes-Benz recalls 1,143 AMG GT53, AMG GT63 4MATIC cars over defective wheel-hub caps

Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) is recalling 1,143 model year 2019-2020 AMG GT53 4MATICs and AMG GT63 4MATICs.

According to the automaker, the wheel-hub caps may detach while the vehicle is being driven and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash or injury for other road users.

As regards what to do in correcting the error, MBUSA will notify affected owners, and dealers will replace the wheel-hub caps free of charge.

The current recall is expected to begin February 16, 2021, and concerned owners may contact MBUSA Customer Service on (800) 367-6372.
