As Nigerians prepare for the festive season, including the Yuletide and New Year celebrations, the Nigeria Police have shared six security tips for people when they are in public spaces.

The Public Relations Department of the Police Headquarters issued the recommendations via Twitter message Tuesday, December 22, in Abuja, FCT.

The suggested personal security tips highlight how residents, especially those who intend to travel for the year’s celebrations, can be as secure as possible at motor parks, airports, and train stations.

According to the Force, the security tips shared by through its verified Twitter account are as follows:

• Make your luggage distinctive,
• Hold your bag firmly,
• Make your calls as private as you can,
• Handle your cash transaction calls discretely,
• Don’t accept food items or drinks from strangers,
• Don’t discuss your private life with strangers.

Likewise, hours after the post, the Police was reported also to have shared a video highlighting Christmas security tips for travellers around the country.
