Volkswagen recalls 10,385 Tiguan LWB vehicles over faulty seat webbing

*A torn seat belt may not adequately restrain the seat occupant during a crash, increasing their risk of injury

Volkswagen Group of America is recalling 10,385 model year 2018 Tiguan LWBs.

According to the auto maker, one or both of the front seat belts’ webbing may tear in a crash.

Accordingly, a torn seat belt may not adequately restrain the seat occupant during a crash, increasing their risk of injury.

In regard to what to do in rectifying the fault, Volkswagen will notify affected owners, and dealers will inspect the front seat belts and replace them ─ as necessary ─ free of charge.

It was gathered that the current recall is expected to begin January 19, 2021.

Meanwhile, owners may contact Volkswagen Customer Service on (800) 893-5298, and Volkswagen’s number for this recall is 69BH.
