Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) is recalling 12,799 model year 2020 GLE 350s, GLE 450s, GLE 580s, GLS 450s, and GLS 580s with an optional illuminated Mercedes-Benz star logo in the front grill.

ConsumerConnect gathered that the star logo’s electrical ground connection may not be installed properly, potentially affecting the function of other components that share the same ground connection.

These components include the power steering control unit, wiper motor, and/or the left headlight.

According to Mercedes-Benz USA, a malfunction of any of these components could pose the risk of a crash.

In regard to what to do in resolving the identified fault, report says the automobile manufacturer will notify affected vehicle owners, and dealers will relocate the ground connection free of charge.

The current recall is expected to begin December 8, 2020, while owners may contact MBUSA Customer Service on (800) 367-6372.
