Mercedes-Benz recalls 7 hybrid electric cars over defective wiring

*High voltage wiring harness shield may malfunction

Mercedes-Benz USA is recalling seven model year 2020 GLC 350e hybrid electric vehicles.

The auto manufacturer said the high-voltage wiring harness shield may not withstand the electrical loads produced under certain driving conditions, possibly causing an electrical malfunction and resulting in a stall.

A vehicle stall can increase the risk of a crash, agency report said.

In connection with what to do in correcting the error, Mercedes-Benz USA will notify affected vehicle owners, and dealers will replace the high-voltage wiring harness free of charge.

The recall is expected to begin December 1, 2020, while owners may contact MBUSA Customer Service on (800) 367-6372.
