COVID-19: PTF urges Nigerians to protect youths, reduce transmission risk

As regards the need to protect the young people, especially as schools resume after several months of shutdown occasioned by COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria, the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has called on the citizenry to minimise the risk of transmitting the ravaging virus in the country.

Dr. Sani Aliyu, National Coordinator of PTF on COVID-19, made this call Monday, October 12 at the media briefing in Abuja, FCT.

The PTF National Coordinator urged the protection of young people, particularly as all schools resume after months of shutdown occasioned resulting from the novel Coronavirus disease in the country.

Aliyu said: “We must also take responsibility to minimise the risk of transmission, protect our young people and their families for the schools to be able to operate effectively.

“Each of us has their own part to play. It is definitely time for Nigeria to get moving and in this regard, we have to support our students.

“We also have to protect our schools because by protecting our schools and educational system, we also protect our future.”
