Citing a principle of reciprocity in international affairs, the Federal Government of Nigeria has approved the implementation of the New Visa Policy (NVP) and New Visa Fees for all countries of the world and various categories of visa applicants.

Mr. Muhammad Babandede, Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), disclosed this in a statement by Mr. Sunday James, Spokesman of NIS, Thursday, October 1, in Abuja, FCT.

The NIS Comptroller-General stated that the implementation of the new visa fees and Nigeria Visa Policy (NVP) 2020 commenced Thursday.

Babandede said: “The service wishes to inform the general public and the international community of the new visa fees approved by the Minister of Interior, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, which is based on the principles of reciprocity.

“The service is inviting stakeholders, concerned authorities and individuals to visit the official website of the Service via for full details of the new visa fees for all countries and category of applicants.”

Recall that the Federal Government had launched a New Visa Policy (NVP) on February 4, 2020, with a view to boosting the nation’s economy and allowing travellers to visit the country without visas.

Nigeria has just commenced the process of obtaining visa upon arrival into the country.
