2020 Ford Expedition

*Seatbelt tension sensor may malfunction in motion, increasing risk of injury to consumers

Having noticed that the seat belt tension sensor may incorrectly classify a child occupant as an adult, the Ford Motor Company is recalling 123 model year 2020 Expedition cars.

According to the auto manufacturing company, in a crash, the incorrect classification would enable the passenger airbag to deploy instead of disabling it, thereby increasing the risk of injury to the seat occupant.

As regards what to do in correcting the error, report says Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the seatbelt buckle free of charge.

The current recall is expected to begin October 12, 2020, and affected vehicle owners may contact Ford Customer Service on (866) 436-7332.

Ford’s number for this recall is 20S54.
