Ford Motor Company is recalling 431 model year 2020 F-150 pickup trucks.

It was learnt that the vehicles may have been built with an improper attachment nut used to fasten the positive battery cable (B+) to the starter motor.

According to the company, an improper attachment nut may not provide a secure connection to the starter or the required conductive properties.

This could increase the potential for incremental heat generation during a vehicle start cycle, and electrical arcing, which could lead to a fire, report stated.

There are no reports of fire, accident or injury.

With regard to what to do in rectifying the error, report says Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the starter motor B+ power supply attachment nut.

Owners may contact Ford Customer Service on (866) 436-7332, while the reference number for this recall is 20S40.
