In view of the current escalating security situation in the region, the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has released emergency hotline numbers for Nigerians living in or travelling through parts of the Middle East.

ConsumerConnect reports tensions have continued to rise over the United States/Israel and Iran-related conflicts in the region.

NiDCOM unveiled the phone contacts in a public notice posted on its official X handle.

The Commission also urged Nigerians in affected countries in the volatile region of the world to save the hotline numbers, and immediately contact the nearest Nigerian Mission in cases of distress or emergency.

The move follows mounting fears over the wider implications of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which has raised concerns about the safety of foreign nationals across several Gulf and Levant countries.

NiDCOM stated the lines are meant to provide urgent consular support as the security situation evolves.

The advisory also covers Nigeria’s diplomatic missions in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait, Tel Aviv, Doha, Beirut, Riyadh, Jeddah, and Amman, with each mission assigned dedicated emergency contact numbers.

The Commission, therefore, advised Nigerians abroad to remain vigilant, follow local safety instructions, and stay in close touch with Nigerian embassies and consulates for updates and assistance.

It further stressed that Nigerians should rely on official information, and take necessary precaution while the crisis continues in the troubled region.
