Electricity: TCN completes repair, restores Shiroro-Mando power transmission line 2

Sequel to recent completion of repair works on the power infrastructure, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has affirmed it successfully, restored the 330 Kilo Volt (KV) Shiroro–Mando Transmission Line 2.

Mrs. Ndidi Mbah, General Manager, Public Affairs at TCN, disclosed this development in a statement Monday, February 23, 2026.

ConsumerConnect reports the TCN earlier, had completed repair works, and restored the 330 Kilo Volt (KV) Shiroro–Mando Transmission Line 1, in Niger State.

Mbah stated that the transmission line was energised after TCN’s engineers concluded extensive technical interventions.

The company also said the intervention was aimed at ensuring the integrity and operational reliability of the infrastructure, adding that the restoration was executed with strict adherence to safety and quality standards.

The General Manager, Public Affairs said: “With Line 1 and 2 now operational, both circuits of the Shiroro–Mando 330kV transmission corridor are fully functional.

“This restoration reinforces bulk electricity transmission to Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company franchise area, enhances network flexibility, and strengthens overall system reliability.”

Besides, the return of both lines marked a significant milestone in TCN’s ongoing efforts at strengthening the transmission backbone and ensuring reliable electricity delivery across its network, stated she.

Mbah as well revealed the company appreciated the cooperation and understanding of electricity consumers, and other stakeholders during the period of outage.

The company restated its commitment to building a resilient and efficient national grid for sustainable power generation, distribution and supply to Nigerian consumers.
