The American Honda Motor Company is recalling 607,784 model year 2018-2020 Odysseys, model year 2019-2020 Passports and model year 2019-2021 Pilots.

ConsumerConnect learnt that the incorrect instrument panel control module software could cause the instrument panel to not display critical information.

Such vital pieces of information include engine oil pressure, speedometer, and gear selector position until the next ignition cycle.

Moreover, it can prevent the rearview camera image from displaying.

Operating a vehicle without a functioning instrument panel or rearview camera display increases the risk of a crash, report stated.

As regards what to do in rectifying the instrument panel software error, report says Honda will notify owners, and dealers will reprogramme the instrument panel control module software free of charge.

This recall is expected to begin September 23, 2020.

Meanwhile, affected vehicle owners may contact Honda Customer Service on (888) 234-2138, and Honda’s number for this recall is T89.
