FIRS unveils new JRB logo, extols tax authorities for improved revenue performance

As Nigeria inches closer to commencement of the implementation of new tax laws come January 2026, the leadership of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has applauded tax authorities for their resilience and improved revenue performance in the West African country.

ConsumerConnect reports Zacch Adedeji, PhD, Executive Chairman of FIRS and Chairman of the Joint Tax Board (JTB), stated this Wednesday, December 10, 2025, in his welcome address at the 158th Meeting of the JTB, held at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, FCT.

Adedeji, in his address delivered at the forum with the theme: “Managing Transition; Driving Transformation, Building the Future of Tax Administration in Nigeria”, announced the unveiling of the new Joint Revenue Board (JRB) logo, brand identity.

He equally mentioned the appointment of Mr. Olusegun Adesokan, as the Executive Secretary of the Joint Tax Board.

The Federal Inland Revenue Service in statements via its official handle at @FIRSNigeria, also disclosed Dr. Adedeji encouraged unity, integrity, and continued commitment as Nigeria enters a new era in revenue administration by January next year.

He highlighted the historic transition from the extant JTB to the new Joint Revenue Board (JRB) effective from January 1 next year.

The FIRS Executive Chairman further averred that the transition process “represents a major step towards a more coordinated and efficient national revenue system” in the tax administration ecosystem in Nigeria.

Adedeji, therefore, urged members of the new Joint Revenue Board “to strengthen collaboration, embrace technology, and anticipate emerging challenges.”
