NDIC auctions landed properties, other assets of liquidated Heritage Bank (Full List)

The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), in exercise of its statutory mandate as the Liquidator of failed banks under Section 62(1)(d) of the NDIC Act, 2023 (as amended), is inviting interested members of the general public to participate in the disposal of the landed properties and physical assets of the Heritage Bank Limited (In-Liquidation).

The Management of NDIC noted this Monday, November 3, 2025, in a public announcement published on its official Web site, titled: “Notice To General Public For Disposal Of Landed Property And Other Physical Assets Of Heritage Bank (In-Liquidation)”.

The Corporation also disclosed the defunct Heritage Bank’s assets, which are located in 15 sites across Nigeria, would be auctioned in phases to ensure broad participation by Nigerians.

Eligibility

The NDIC said all interested bidders are invited to note the following information:

1. Auctions shall be conducted in transparent and competitive manner, with interested bidders required to adhere strictly to the prescribed guidelines.
2. The process is open to all reputable individuals, corporate entities and consortia with proven financial capacity.
3. The landed properties, which are listed in the following schedule, shall be sold on an “as-is” basis and net of all taxes.
4. It equally announced that each bid must be sealed and accompanied by the following:
5. 10% of the bid value in bank draft drawn in favour of Heritage Bank (in liquidation), as bid security.
6. A letter of introduction from a licensed commercial/merchant or specialized bank, confirming the financial capacity of the bidder or other verifiable proof of funds.
7. For corporate bidders, a profile of the company, including the Corporate Affairs Commission registration and 3 years’ tax clearance certificates (if applicable).
8. For private individual bidders, the requirements in ‘a’ and ‘b’ above suffice.

“Bids without the required 10 percent bank draft will be rendered invalid, stated the NDIC in the notice.

5. The Corporation explained that bids could be submitted at the designated NDIC, Zonal Offices or the Corporation’s Asset Management Department (9th Floor), Mamman Kontagora House, 23A, Marina, in Lagos.

6. Successful bidders who fail to make the final payment within the stipulated time frame shall have their bids invalidated and forfeit their 10 percent bid-security

7. All bidders shall be given the opportunity to inspect the properties on specific dates within one (1) week, prior to the scheduled auction date.
8. For properties in Lagos (3) days will be allocated for inspection from 12th to 14th November, 2025, between 10:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
9. For properties outside Lagos Two (2) days will be allocated for inspection from 13th to 14th November, 2025, between 10.00 a.m and 3.30 p.m.
10. Where a property has a sitting tenant or long-term leaseholder, such occupant shall be granted the right of first refusal, subject to meeting the amount of the winning competitive bid.
