Tinubu nominates Bernard Mohammed Doro as minister, seeks Senate’s confirmation

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded a letter to the Nigerian Senate, in the National Assembly (NASS), Abuja, FCT, seeking the confirmation of Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro from Plateau State as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Dr. Doro’s nomination is sequel to Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda’s election as the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress July 2025.

Yilwatda previously, served as Nigeria’s Honourable Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.

Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, who disclosed this development Tuesday, October 21, 2025, stated Dr. Doro was born January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State

The ministerial-nominee has over 20 years of multidisciplinary experience in clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community engagement in the United Kingdom (UK) and Nigeria.

The statement also revealed Doro obtained Degrees in Pharmacy and Law, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), focusing on IT-driven business strategy, and a Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice.

He is also described as an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with NHS frontline experience across urgent care, walk-in centres, GP practices, and hospital settings.

Doro has led youth mentorship and social impact initiatives in the Diaspora and local communities, stated Onanuga.
