Company recalls hand sanitisers, moisturizers, disinfectants over methanol

In view of the reported health concerns associated with some healthcare products containing methanol (wood alcohol), ITECH 361 is recalling 18,940 bottles of All Clean Hand sanitiser, moisturizer, and disinfectant form the market and circulation.

Report indicates that the identified products may contain methanol (wood alcohol) which can produce nausea, vomiting, headache, blurred vision, permanent blindness, seizures, coma, or permanent damage to the nervous system or death of consumers.

The recalled products, which are used as a hand sanitiser and moisturizer, and packaged in one-litre plastic bottles with UPC Code 628055370130, were sold by retailers across the United States, although there are no reports of adverse events to date, said the report.

Consumers who purchased the recalled product have been urged to stop using and return it to the place of purchase.
