Chrysler recalls 1,500 pickups, Ram Promaster vans

*Involves 114 vehicles with which side curtain airbag may not inflate properly

Chrysler is recalling 114 model year 2020 Ram Promaster vans and 1,500 pickups.

It was learnt that the affected vehicles may have an improperly crimped diffuser in the side curtain airbag which may result in the diffuser detaching from the inflator in the event of an airbag deployment.

Report says if the diffuser detaches from the inflator during airbag deployment, the airbag may not inflate properly, increasing the risk of injury.

In connection with what to do, Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the side curtain air bag assemblies free of charge.

The recall is expected to begin August 14, 2020.

Therefore, owners may contact Chrysler Customer Service on 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler’s number for this recall is W52, said the report.
