The leadership of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) has supported the ongoing efforts at curbing the spread of the novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) epidemic in the country with the donation of cash and ambulance to the Capital Market Support Committee for COVID-19 (CMSCC).

ConsumerConnect reports Mr. Oscar N. Onyema, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), disclosed this in a tweet via his verified Twitter account Monday, July 7 that the NSE had redeemed its pledge to support the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)-led Capital Market Support Committee for COVID-19 (CMSCC) with the donations in Lagos.

Onyama, on the presentation of the donations, said: “Now more than ever, we need collective, decisive, coordinated, and more inclusive actions in slowing the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nigeria.”

Onyema said that at the Nigerian Stock Exchange is “supporting the fight against the virus with the Masks For All Nigerians Campaign aimed to galvanising responsible corporate citizens and individuals to donate 400 million face masks to Nigerians, especially low-income households.”

The NSE Chief Executive further stated that “today, we redeemed our pledge to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)-led Capital Market Support Committee for COVID-19 (CMSCC) by making a cash and ambulance donation totalling sixty million Naira.
