In order to strengthen the fight against the increasing cases of COVID-19 disease in the country, the Federal Government has received the donation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) from China.

Dr. Osagie Ehanire, Honourable Minister for Health, received the medical supplies on behalf of the Federal Government from the China Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria.

The new PPE items include 40,000 disposable masks, 1,500 disposable medical protective suit and 1 ‘Infra-Red’ thermal imaging thermometer unit.

Making the donation to the country were Tristan, Director-General (DG) of the Chinese Chamber and Kelvin Yang of Huawei Technologies Company Nigeria Limited, who both represented the China Chamber of Commerce at the presentation of the donated items.

It is believed that the additional PPEs will come in handy to protect consumers, especially the front line health workers from exposures to the virus while on duty.
