NCDC records 8 new COVID-19 deaths as Nigeria’s total infections hit 21,371

* Agency records 452 fresh cases, Lagos leads with 209, Oyo 67, Delta 37 infections

Nigeria has recorded eight new COVID-19 deaths and 452 fresh cases in the country, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has said.

According to the NCDC in a tweet via its verified Twitter account night of Tuesday, June 23, the country confirmed the new cases in 13 states and Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

Lagos leads other states with 209 cases, followed by Oyo 67 cases and Delta with 37, said the disease control agency.

Similarly, Ogun recorded 36 cases, Abia (20), Enugu (16), Bauchi (15).

Kaduna and Ondo recorded 8 cases respectively, Osun (7) with Benue and Imo each recording (3) cases.

While the FCT has 22 cases, Borno had the least figure with a case.

The NCDC said the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 cases in the country to 21,371 with the number of discharged patients to 7, 338.
