NCDC confirms 573 new COVID-19 cases, Nigeria’s total now 16,658

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 573 new cases of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), making the country’s total infections rise to 16,658.

According to the disease control agency in a tweet via its verified Twitter account @NCDCgov, night of Monday, Jun 15, 2020, the nation recorded four additional deaths over the past 24 hours.

Lagos, again, reported the highest number of cases with 216 new cases while Rivers was second with 103 new infections.

According to the agency, of the total number confirmed in the country thus far, 5,349 persons have been discharged.

Analysis of the 573 new cases of #COVID19 is as follows: Lagos-216, Rivers-103, Oyo-68, Edo-40, Kano-21, Gombe-20, FCT-17, Delta-13, Plateau-12, Bauchi-12, Niger-10, Kebbi-9, Ogun-8, Ondo-8, Abia-7, Nasarawa-5, Borno-1, Kwara-1, Benue-1 and Anambra-1

So far, there are 16,658 confirmed Coronavirus cases with 5,349 discharged patients, and 424 deaths in Nigeria, according to NCDC.
