Coronavirus: 13 General Hospitals marked for renovation in Ebonyi

* State Government reminds residents to take responsibility on ‘no face mask, no public movement’ policy

Against the backdrop of the outbreak of the novel COVID-19 epidemic in the state, the Ebonyi State Government of Nigeria has announced plans to refurbish 13 General Hospitals across the state.

It was learnt that Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State stated this Friday, June 12 when giving an update on the occurrence of Coronavirus epidemic in his state, at the State Security Meeting held in the Government House, Abakaliki, the state capital.

According to the governor, following the deployment of the second COVID-19 testing machine, the state has increased its daily testing capacity for COVID-19 to 100.

Umahi stressed the need for the residents to take responsibility as warning that the government is serious with its ‘no face mask, no public movement’ policy to prevent the further spread of the disease.

The state government confirmed that Ebonyi had recorded 162 Coronavirus cases, out of which 72 patients had been discharged while 90 others are still receiving treatment.
