As a member of the league of global organisations empowering citizens to create significant, wide-reaching impact on economies, Nigeria’s National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has been honoured with the “Maximising Impact Award” at Coursera’s 2024 Outstanding Enterprise Customer Achievement Award Ceremony, during the 12th Coursera annual Conference, held in Nevada, Las Vegas, United States (US).

ConsumerConnect reports NITDA disclosed this development via its verified social media account at the weekend.

The agency noted Malam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, CCIE, Director-General of NITDA, received the award that recognises organisations that have leveraged Coursera’s offerings to create significant, wide-reaching impact in countries around the world.

The country’s Information Technology (IT) sector regulator also averred, that through its “One Million Developers and Skills” initiative, NITDA has empowered Nigerians with “vital skills, achieving 8,000+ learners enrolled in nearly 60,000 courses, over 200,000 learning hours complete, which boost skills, productivity, and employability” in the country’s economy.
