Digital Literacy: NITDA, Georgia Institute of Technology to collaborate on advancing in-demand tech skills for Nigerians

In line with the agency’s core mandate to maximise stakeholder engagement and partnerships to expand global opportunities for Nigerians, and significantly impact the Information Technology (IT) sector of the economy, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has intensified a collaborative effort with the Georgia Institute of Technology’s Online Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Analytics.

ConsumerConnect reports Malam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, CCIE, Director-General of NITDA, stated this Friday, July 26, 2024, while hosting a team from the Georgia Institute of Technology’s Online Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Analytics, in his office at the Corporate Headquarters of the agency, in Abuja, FCT.

The Nigerian IT sector regulatory agency, in a blog note via its verified social media account, disclosed Dr. Michael Best led the visiting team from the Georgia Institute of Technology to discuss collaboration for technology development and digital literacy with the agency.

“The meeting centered on enhancing digital literacy, advancing technological education, and equipping Nigerians with in-demand tech skills,” wrote NITDA.

Inuwa also expressed enthusiasm about the potential of the initiatives to significantly impact the technology sector and expand global opportunities for Nigerians.

According to NITDA, such initiatives “which perfectly align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration’s redefined priority area to Accelerate Diversification through Industrialisation, Digitisation, Creative Arts, Manufacturing and Innovation.”
