Nigeria directs workers on GL-14 and above to resume work daily

Following the gradual relaxation of the nationwide lockdown and introduction of certain measures to ensure safety of all, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoCSF), has directed officers on Grade Level 14 and above, including those on essential services to resume work on a daily basis with effect from Tuesday, June 2, 2020.

ConsumerConnect gathered that Olawunmi Ogunmosunle, Director of Information, Office of the Head of Service of the Federation, in a memo Tuesday stated that the concerned officers have been directed to report to work daily, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

According to the memo, “the officers are to ensure full compliance with the directives and advice on the prevention of the COVID -19 pandemic.

“These measures include maintenance of physical distancing, regular washing and/or sanitizing of hands and wearing of face masks.

“They are also to limit the number of visitors they receive to the barest minimum and ensure that the visitors comply with safety and health advice/ directives.”

Dr. Yemi-Esan advised the Permanent Secretaries and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) to abide by guidelines and advice on preventive measures on Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection as contained in earlier circulars.
