Abuja DisCo warns debtor consumers to pay outstanding bills or face power disconnection

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), one of the electricity Distribution Companies (DisCo) in Nigeria, has notified all its customers to pay all outstanding debts or get disconnected from power supply within 72 hours.

Victor Ojelabi, Managing Director/CEO of AEDC, issued the disconnection notice in a statement released Friday, May 31, 2024.

Ojelabi stated: “All customers with outstanding bills to settle their accounts immediately to avoid service disruption.

“To this end, customers who are yet to settle their outstanding bills within the next 72 hours, by Monday, June 3, 2024, will face disconnection of their electricity supply.”

The AEDC Chief Executive also said: “The importance of adhering to payment deadlines is to ensure efficient and reliable service.”

“The timely payment of electricity bills remains crucial for the continued operation and enhancement of AEDC’s infrastructure, which is essential for delivering uninterrupted service to the community.”
