The Lagos State Government has urged banks, other financial institutions and traders in the markets to strictly enforce orderliness on their premises and accord elderly people priority services between 9.00a.m. and 10.30a.m.

Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State, who gave the directive following a Security Council’s meeting at the State House, Marina, in Lagos, Sunday, May 17, said that other younger consumers also should be allowed to transact their businesses within the recommended time bracket.

In ensuring strict compliance with the safety measure, Governor Sanwo-Olu disclosed that the Lagos State Safety Commission (LSSC) and Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) personnel would be visiting restaurants and companies to assess their level of readiness for reopening.

These agencies also would also be visiting worship centres to evaluate their level of preparedness as of now, he stressed.

The governor stated that the physical distancing and hygiene conditions would be fully considered in determining whether mosques and churches can reopen in Lagos State soon.

Sanwo-Olu advised businesses, religious houses and residents to maintain the status quo as the state government works out modalities for full-scale reopening.
