Mr. Usman Ododo Saturday, January 27, 2024, took the oath of office as new Governor of Kogi State of Nigeria.

ConsumerConnect reports Mr. Ododo, who took the oath of office at around 2:24 p.m.  Saturday, in Lokoja, Kogi State capital, earlier had been elected as governor of the Middle Belt state, in 2023, to take over from outgoing Governor Yahaya Bello, who has now completed his second term in office.

His inauguration came just minutes after Salifu Joel Oyibo took his oath of office as the new Deputy Governor of Kogi State.

With his swearing in, Ododo becomes 5th Executive Governor of Kogi State.

In attendance at the inauguration event include Vice-President Kashim Shettima, the Ododo’s predecessor, Yahaya Bello, other top members of the All Progressives Congress, as well as throngs of well-wishers across the state and beyond.
