Ford recalls 34,762 Mustang Mach-E vehicles over battery contactor overheating

Ford Motor Company is recalling 34,762 model year 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-Es with an extended range battery.

The automobile manufacturer said the high voltage battery main contactors might overheat, resulting in a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

In regard to what to do in addressing the defect, Ford stated the dealers would replace the high voltage battery junction box, free of charge, reports ConsumerAffairs.

Vehicles included in this recall that were previously repaired a recall issued July 2022 would need to have the new remedy completed, report said.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 30, 2023.

Affected vehicle owners may contact Ford Customer Service on (866) 436-7332, while Ford’s number for this recall is 23S56.
