Sequel to the 12-hour ruling of the The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT), in a 12-hour marathon judgement Wednesday, September 6, 2023, in Abuja, FCT, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has welcomed the Tribunal’s verdict affirming his election victory.

The Presidency also called on Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Mr. Peter Obi to join hands with his administration engender good governance for Nigerians.

ConsumerConnect reports the five-man Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, led by Justice Haruna Tsammani, Wednesday declared that Obi, Atiku and APM’s petitions challenging Tinubu’s electoral victory lack Ed merit.

The Tribunal, therefore, affirmed “the return of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the duly elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Responding to the PEPT verdict, Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser (SA) to the President on Media and Publicity, stated: “The President (Tinubu) believes the Presidential Candidates and Political Parties that have lawfully exercised their rights by participating in the 2023 General Elections and the judicial process, which followed, have affirmed Nigeria’s democratic credentials.

“The President urges his valiant challengers to inspire their supporters in the trust that the spirit of patriotism will now and forever be elevated above partisan considerations, manifesting into support for our Government to improve the livelihood of all Nigerians.”
