Nigerian Government announces date for new monthly pensions

*The Federal Government explains the change in the implementation date to August 2023 becomes necessary to resolve all the logistical challenges that have impaired production and other procedural issues

The Federal Government has announced the shift in the date for its new monthly pension payments for pensioners in the parastatals.

Mr. Gbenga Ajayi, Head of Corporate Communications at the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), under the Ministry of Power and Transportation, disclosed this development Friday, July 28, 2023, in a statement.

Ajayi noted the July date earlier fixed for the commencement of the back-end computation project for pensioners has been shifted to August 2023.

The PTAD Head of Corporate Communications also explained that the change in the implementation date became necessary to resolve all the logistics challenges that had impaired production and other issues.

“The directorate has announced that the implementation of the new monthly pension derived from there will commence in the August payroll as against July earlier proposed.”
