The top scorer in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations with a cumulative mark of 360, is a student of Deeper Life High School (DLHS), Lagos Campus, in Lagos State.

Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), had disclosed during the 2023 policy meeting in Abuja, FCT, that Umeh Nkechinyere, an indigene of Anambra State, got the highest score in the highly competitive public examination. 

Research, however, revealed that the student, who showed high level of brilliance is a Deeper Life High School-trained young scholar, showcasing the discipline and tutelage that the school is known for.

JAMB had also unveiled the 10 top candidates, among whom are Aguele Stephen, 358; Ositade Oluwafemi, 358; Gbolahan Ayinde, 357; John Fulfilment, 356; and Chimdubem Ugonna, 355, among others.

Deeper Life High School is a boarding, mission, co-educational secondary school established by the Deeper Christian Life Ministry November 6, 2010, with the sole aim of contributing to human capital development in Nigeria.

According to the Ministry, it is the vision of God, given to the General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM), Pastor (Dr.) W.F. Kumuyi.

It also stated: “The vision is to take children and youth to the top, children with clear vision and purpose like Daniel who imbibes the knowledge of God.”

Aside from the sterling performance of Nkechinyere, other students of the Deeper Life High School also came off with flying colours.

In the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME), 131 or 15 percent of the students of the different campuses of the school scored between 300 and 355.

Forty-five percent of her candidates scored between 250 and 299; while 316 others or 36 percent scored between 200 and 249.

Expressing her joy, elated Mrs. Thelma Malaka, Education Secretary of DLHS, said: “At DLHS we are proud of Nkechinyere’s performance.

“She’s a true ambassador of the school where academic and moral excellence are a norm.”

Malaka also said: “The superlative performance of other students of school in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations also underscores the importance we attach to hardwork and excellence.

“We wish Nkechinyere and other students of DLHS more ascendancy in their careers.”

The Deeper Life High School (DLHS) school started with seven campuses, and is currently present in 21 States including the Federal Capital Territory and still expanding.
